Pain is very prevalent in our world today. Some facts to consider:

With pain comes other symptoms like:

  • Depression & anxiety.

  • Low self esteem & confidence due to body changes.

  • Emotional & mental distress.

  • Physical symptoms like nausea & fatigue.

  • Worry of becoming addicted to pain medications.

  • Lack of sleep.

Yoga can help alleviate some of the pain so many people are facing daily. The poses, breathing & meditation can help people overcome the negative effects of their disease. Slow, subtle, restorative yoga poses have been proven to be effective in improving certain factors.

  • Lowering stress levels. Battling any kind of pain can become physically, mentally & emotionally draining. By lowering your stress levels, you can strengthen your immune functions.

  • Better sleep. The combination of poses & breathing in yoga help aid with relaxation. This, in turn, can help provide better sleep cycles.

  • Increases physical functioning of daily movements. A regualar yoga practice can help to correct alignment, improving strength & flexibility.

  • Detoxification of the body. Yoga poses help stimulate the muscles, increase blood supply & balance the glands (especially the lymphatic glands). This helps with the internal purification process.

  • Union of body & mind & higher self esteem. As you connect breath & movement, you are getting in tune with your body & increasing self esteem & confidence knowing what your body can do.
