You don’t need to sit still on a cushion for 20 minutes to access peace.
Sometimes, the deepest meditations happen when your feet hit the pavement…
When your body flows through a familiar yoga sequence…
Or when sweat drips from your brow and something heavy—emotionally or energetically—finally lets go.
Movement is medicine.
But it’s also a mirror.
A way to come home to yourself.
Let’s talk about how movement—yes, even a slow, sweaty walk—can be your pathway to healing, peace, and clarity.
There was a time in my life when everything felt shattered.
I was in a marriage with an alcoholic partner, and over time, the emotional pain escalated into physical violence. One day, he hit me—and that moment became a catalyst for everything that followed.
I had to move through the hurt.
Move through the anger.
Move through the grief of what I had imagined my life would be.
And oddly enough, it was movement itself that helped me start to release it.
Not intense workouts or punishing routines… but gentle, intentional movement.
Walks outside with the sun on my skin.
Slow, grounding yoga practices that let me breathe again.
Stretching while soft tears fell.
Sometimes praying in silence on my mat, just asking for clarity.
Little by little, I found forgiveness.
Not for what happened, but for myself—for staying, for doubting, for loving.
And still today, whenever life brings change, challenge, or chaos…
Movement is where I go to remember who I am.
To feel God, my breath, my strength, my truth.
Let’s bust a myth:
Meditation isn’t about clearing your mind or achieving enlightenment in lotus pose.
It’s about presence.
That full-body, full-soul awareness of what you’re feeling, how you're breathing, and what you're holding.
Movement invites that presence.
A walk where your thoughts finally unravel.
A stretch that makes your body exhale with relief.
A dance in your kitchen that turns into a joyful surrender.
Movement is meditation—when you show up with intention.
There are things the body remembers that the mind tries to forget.
Old heartbreaks, unspoken stress, suppressed anger, deep grief.
You don’t always need to talk it out.
Sometimes, you need to sweat it out.
Stretch it out.
Sway it out.
Here’s what I recommend when you feel overwhelmed but don’t want to sit and “do nothing”:
Try a walking meditation. Leave the earbuds at home. Listen to your breath. Let your feet guide you.
Do 7 minutes of gentle yoga. (We created a free guide just for this—download it here for immediate relief.)
Set a timer and stretch for 5 minutes. Breathe into the tight spaces. Be kind to them.
Move with music. One song. One dance. No rules.
There’s no right or wrong way to make movement sacred.
But here’s a simple ritual to try when you’re craving clarity:
Set an intention. (Peace, forgiveness, strength—whatever you need.)
Choose your movement. (Walk, yoga, dance, hike—anything goes.)
Stay present. (Breathe. Notice. Be gentle with your thoughts.)
Close with stillness or prayer. (Place your hand on your heart. Say thank you.)
This is how you move with purpose.
This is how you turn sweat into a sacred act.
Your movement practice doesn’t need to be perfect.
It just needs to feel like you.
And if you’re holding pain, tension, or emotional weight in your body right now—start small.

You don’t have to be a “hot girl” to have a hot girl summer of holistic healing.
You just have to be true to you.

You deserve it. 💛
