Soulful Success: Why I Redefined Success to Feel Like Me

June 03, 20264 min read

I used to think success had a look.

A pace.
A level of visibility that proved I was “doing it right.”

And for a while, I tried to keep up with that version of success—the one that says more is better, faster is smarter, and busy means worthy.

But something always felt… off.

Especially when my girls were little.

I was blessed to be able to stay home with them, and even without social media, I still felt the quiet pressure of what it meant to be a “good mom,” a “good wife,” and someone who was doing enough.

Filling our days with activities.
Trying to do it all.
Keeping up with expectations that didn’t actually feel like mine.

And deep down, I knew:

That version of success didn’t feel like success at all.

I didn’t want less success.

I wanted soulful success—the kind that didn’t cost me myself.

Let’s Redefine Success

At some point, I realized success isn’t something you chase.

It’s something you choose to define.

And for me, that definition had to shift.

Success should feel calm, not chaotic

If your version of success leaves your body tense, your mind racing, and your emotions overwhelmed… is it really success?

We’ve normalized stress as a side effect of achievement.
But your nervous system tells the truth.

Calm doesn’t mean you’re not growing.
It means you’re growing in a way your body can actually hold.

Success should feel steady, not rushed

Rushing disconnects you from the moment you’re actually living.

When everything feels urgent, you miss the very life you’re working so hard to build.

Soulful success honors timing over urgency.

It allows space to breathe.
To process.
To enjoy the journey—not just the outcome.

Success should feel expansive, not depleting

Success isn’t meant to drain you.

It should expand you.

It should feel lighter.
More aligned.
More like yourself—not less.

If what you’re building leaves you feeling heavy, discouraged, or disconnected from joy… it’s worth asking:

Is this success—or is this survival dressed up as success?

Soulful success is different

It’s:

  • Ambition guided by intuition

  • Growth rooted in enough-ness

  • Progress that honors your energy, not overrides it

It’s not about doing less for the sake of it.

It’s about doing what actually matters—in a way that feels true to you.

How to Integrate Soulful Success Into Your Life

Redefining success is one thing.

Living it is another.

Here’s where it begins:

Let your body lead your decisions

You don’t have to respond immediately.

You don’t have to say yes on the spot.

Pause.

Take a breath.
Take a walk.
Create space between the ask and your answer.

Your body will always give you information before your mind catches up.

Pay attention to that feeling:

  • Expansion or contraction

  • Calm or tension

  • Grounded or scattered

That’s your guidance.

Redefine your milestones

Not everything has to be about the next big leap.

Maybe success used to look like the next promotion, the next level, the next “more.”

But what if success became:

  • Showing up fully for a conversation

  • Delivering a presentation you felt proud of

  • Being present in your own life

Life isn’t a race.

And your milestones get to reflect the life you actually want to live.

Measure success by sustainability

Burnout is not a badge of honor.

If you can’t maintain it, it’s not aligned success—it’s temporary output.

Soulful success asks:

Can I keep living like this… and still feel like myself?

Can I enjoy my life while building it?

Because real success isn’t something you reach and collapse from.

It’s something you live inside of.

The Truth About Soulful Success

Success doesn’t need to be loud to be real.

It doesn’t need constant visibility or validation.

It doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s version.

It just needs to feel true.

True to your values.
True to your energy.
True to the life you actually want to wake up to.

And sometimes, redefining success isn’t about adding more.

It’s about releasing what was never yours to carry in the first place.

If you’re in a season of redefining what success looks like for you…

If you’re craving something that feels more grounded, more aligned, more you

You’re not alone.

And you don’t have to figure it out by pushing harder.

You get to build success that feels like integrity—not pressure.

Save or share this if you’re choosing a version of success that honors your energy, your values, and your life.
